Proceeds for the organic and sustainable Marley coffee go to the non-profit Kicks for Cause

As its name suggests, the Marley Resort & Spa in Nassau, The Bahamas  is owned and operated by the children of Bob Marley, and the resort with its 16 luxury rooms and suites is now offering up its unique line of single origin and blended coffees.

With beans plucked from the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, Central America, Indonesia and the birthplace of coffee, Ethiopia Yirgacheffe, Marley Coffee is certified organic and sustainably grown. “Our coffee is fantastic, but all that goodness doesn’t stop at the cup,” said Stephanie Marley. “Partial proceeds of the sale go to the non-profit Kicks for Cause, which aims to get kids in all these coffee growing countries caught up in soccer and not the clutches of child labor. That’s a whole lot of enjoyment in every sip!”

A dream of Bob Marley’s made real by his son, Rohan, Marley Coffee is an international gourmet coffee company with a 52-acre private estate that sits atop the Blue Mountains, long revered as the region with the world’s most desirable coffee beans. “I’m proud to introduce all of the Marley Coffee lovers of the world to our wonderful home away from home, the Marley Resort & Spa in Nassau, Bahamas,” said Rohan Marley. “Plus, we want our customers to know that when they decide to visit the resort, they will be comforted knowing that their favorite Marley Coffee will be served.”

Situated in the Bahamas, the Marley Resort & Spa is set in the lush grounds of Cable Beach, Nassau, just a 60-minute flight from Miami. The summer retreat of the Reggae Royalty now welcomes guests to 16 luxurious, themed suites, all of which reflect the musical legacies of Bob and Rita Marley. The property has two free-form pools, a five-star personal concierge service, a boutique featuring Cedella Marley fashions, a music gallery, and a Caribbean-fusion restaurant that offers some of the Marley’s favorite dishes.

Perfect Tenerife Holidays

Of all the Canary Islands, Tenerife is still one of the most popular, with thousands of people flocking to its shores every summer.  The only question you really need to ask yourself is where in Tenerife should you stay and what should you do once you get there – besides lie on the beautiful beaches, work on your tan and soak up the sun? Tenerife.co.uk can help you with all these choices, with their complete guide to the island along with expert local knowledge. With 346 hotels across 23 resorts, you can choose from a myriad of lodgings ranging from one star (for the budget conscious) to five stars (for those who wish to splurge) when it comes to Tenerife and Tenerife holidays.

If you’re looking for a relaxing, quiet holiday with some of the most spectacular views of the Mount Teide volcano, then head to Bajamar, the small, sleepy fishing village on the North East coast of Tenerife. Here you can walk the Anaga Mountains, and swim in the natural rock pool.

However, if you’re looking to really kick your heels up, then Playa de las Americas is probably the most famous and popular resort for families, couples and groups. The resort boasts six beaches and a slew of water sports, including diving trips, catamaran sailing trips, paragliding, pedalos, jet skiing and water rides. This is also the place to head to if you’re looking for swinging nightlife and lots of clubs and bars.

Of course, you can take an entirely different route, and if you’re looking to combine a coastal resort holiday with a taste of traditional village life, then Los Silos is the place to go. Located on the North Western coast of Tenerife in the area known as Isla Baja or the Lowlands, the resort is a quiet picturesque town with traditional architecture as well as narrow cobbled streets with a few bars and restaurants.  Head out to the Teno Rural Park, home to the forests and fields of Monte del Agua and La Tierra del Trigo, or down to one of the two main beaches — Charco de la Arana and Playa de Agua Dulce – both of which are perfect for scuba diving.

White House Backs Plan for Eco-Friendly Villages in Haiti

The sustainable E-Domes are designed to help Haitians survive the hurricane season.

In the wake of the devastation left by the earthquake in Haiti earlier this year, the White House administration is backing sustainable, green initiatives to help rebuild the country.

The move comes following a recent visit to the White House by a Haitian delegation, to celebrate Haitian Independence Day.  Among the efforts being undertaken are E-Domes (eco-friendly domes), shelters designed to withstand hurricanes. The concept is a timely one, as Haiti prepares for the upcoming Hurricane season.

Currently, the International Green Technology Institute of the Tom Bradley Legacy Foundation has plans for 50 E Dome Villages to be distributed throughout the country in the next 18 months to house 100,000 people. In a statement, Erik Peterson, Principle of the Claremont Environmental Design Group, noted that the  “Village in a Box” could be erected in a month, once the site is selected and the proper grading completed.  Project Green Haiti training leader, Rob Srinivus, President of Eco-Hut Academy added in a prepared statement, “Our goal is to develop an eco-entrepreneurial society, therefore, we will train the people to construct the E Villages as well as install the solar energy systems. Our goal is to empower a green generation of Haitians to rebuild their villages where one can live, work, play, learn, shop, and care the environment and each other.”
